Wellington School has experienced significantly increased demand in the core day market as well as a greater demand for boarding than ever before. In order to increase boarding capacity in line with the growing requirement for beds, the School has added The Grange – a gorgeous Edwardian house to the portfolio or boarding houses.

With a waiting list for Year 9 and boarding, a new All-Weather Pitch, a new uniform, and many ongoing development and building projects, Wellington School is an exciting place to be right now.

The Grange is set up as a junior girls house for pupils in Year 7-9 with the very best facilities and superb pastoral care. We have an excellent and vibrant Housemistress, Holly Byrne who looks after the girls’ daily routines and ensure the smooth running of the house.

The girls have tremendous fun in the house, with craft sessions, activities, trips and all sorts of fabulous experiences. The Grange comes under the overall jurisdiction of Beech House, which is the senior girls house – they meet up for many activities and the Grange girls have older girls as mentors.

With the increase in our Outdoor Education provision, the exceptional sport and music facilities and the continued emphasis on academic rigour, Wellington School is finding that the demand for places has never been so great. In addition, many sporting pupils will flexi or weekly board to enable them to complete late night training sessions.

“I am a great believer in the enriching experience boarding provides, as well as developing a sense of independence as pupils look to life at university and beyond. To have acquired such a wonderful and versatile property, just a few hundred yards from the School, will greatly enhance our boarding provision and it will be returned to its former glory as an educational establishment for girls.

“We have exciting times ahead with our new facilities and on-ongoing development projects,” commented Headmaster Henry Price.
