A team of Wellington School Sixth Formers have won a French debate for the second time on the trot.

Having won the debate at Monmouth School in the summer, our team travelled to Taunton School to take part in the first of a series of modern language debates for independent schools in the area.French Debate Winners

Arguing against video-surveillance and in favour of liberty and privacy, (in French!) the Wellington team impressed the judges with the strength of their arguments and the quality and accuracy of their language and won their debate against a native speaker team from Taunton.

Wellington were judged the best overall, scoring 14 points out of 15, with Taunton and King’s second and third on 12 and 11 points respectively.

Congratulations to the team of Will Hammerton, Tom Blelloch and Elias Buckley-WIlson. Three other members – Simon Moody, Rowan Jobin and Kirsty Sadler put questions to the other teams. All did very well indeed.
