A fabulous installation of poppies to rival that at the Tower of London has been set up at Wellington School as part of the Remembrance Day celebrations.
Pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 have created a range of beautiful, individual acrylic poppies in Design Technology lessons. These have been artfully “planted” in the Memorial Sunken Garden creating an impressive and thought-provoking tribute to all those who lost their lives in the First World War. As this includes many Old Wellingtons, it is an especially poignant tribute.
The installation will finish on the 18th November and subsequently, students will be able to take home their poppies.
