A gifted musician from Wellington School has recorded his first album.
Tom Harris in Year 11 ventured into a professional music recording studio and recorded his first EP. Tom played guitar and sang some of his own material. It was his first time in a studio and he recorded three tracks.
The songs feature Tom’s intricate and upbeat guitar playing with his distinctive and versatile voice, supported by his own backing vocals. Each track is markedly different from the others and Tom has put them together on an online EP. You can listen to them on the website http://tomharrisofficial.bandcamp.com.
Tom has regularly performed at events in Taunton and can often be found busking around Taunton High Street. He continues to write songs for himself and his rock band “Last One Home”, and they hope to record some tracks soon.
Tom said ‘I’ve been performing at School at Music for Lunch, the Fretted Strings Concert, in classes and open days and this gave me the confidence to perform in front of the public and go on to professionally record some of my own songs. I hope people like my EP and I’d love to know what they think of the songs’.
