Pupils at Wellington Junior School are celebrating World Book Day with an evening of storytelling on Friday 7th March.
Grandparents, parents and friends of the school will be reading aloud to children from across the Junior School, who will gather after school wearing pyjamas, onesies and clutching teddies to celebrate the pleasure of storytelling by candlelight with lashings of cocoa!
The school’s youngest pupils in the Nursery enjoyed storytelling in class this week with their teacher, Jane Hester (Head of Nursery). For the 10 new children who have joined Nursery this term, Mrs Hester has been keen to punctuate their busy day with a chance to relax and enjoy the magic of books.
On World Book Day pupils in the Nursery will be bringing in their favourite book to share with their classmates and some of these stories will be shared with all the children at the storytelling evening.
