Wellington Junior School pupils charmed and sparkled this week with their nativity and Christmas plays. With cheeky little elves and dancing gummy bears, the Infant Nativity seemed to have it all (and more!).

The Early Years Nativity was equally charming, with the story of Christmas told in a traditional way. With Kings and Shepherds, Angels and Innkeepers and the wonderful “crowd” portrayed by the nursery children, the audience was thoroughly entertained. King Herod was both frightening and endearing! It was simply stunning and a joy to watch.

“We encourage everyone to take part and do their best” commented Adam Gibson, Headmaster of Wellington Junior School. “We are always delighted to see their confidence grow and watch them rise to the challenge. Well done to all the staff and children who made such an enchanting start to the festive season”.

The Junior School also held their Christmas Carol Service in the beautiful school chapel, which was full of parents, grandparents and friends. The magnificent organ was played superbly by Ian Webb – Taylor and the congregation were treated to a range of readings, carols and a picturesque tableau of the Nativity scene by pupils of all ages from the school.
