The U18 category was won by Year 13 student, Evie Burrows, with fellow Year 13 Rosie Ross runner-up. Special recognition was given to Mason Gardner, Katie Miles, Fern Harris and Ciaran Maunder.

The U16 and under category was won by Year 12 student, Sally Ng, with Callum Bailey and Mia Morris receiving special recognition.

West Buckland’s strength in art is well known and this was rightful recognition of all the hard work that the students have put into their studies. A-level students have access to the outstanding art facilities at evenings and weekends to work on their final exam pieces and teaching is of a very high standard.

GCSE and A-level art are very popular at West Buckland and the art facility, one of the finest in the country, attracts art scholars from all over the world as well as local talent. Many students will go on to study art or architecture at university.

In addition to their exam pieces Year 13 student, Ciaran Maunder, recently completed a stunning watercolour of the school campus, commissioned by the school, which will be displayed in the school’s reception area.
