West Buckland School Year 10 student, Reese Robinson, has qualified for the National Schools Athletics Finals in the triple jump, following an outstanding performance at the South West Championships in Exeter last weekend.

She follows in the footsteps of former West Buckland pupil, Jonathan Edwards, who is the current triple jump world record holder.

In addition, Year 7 and 8 students Linus Emuna (High Jump), Bella Lawson (100m and Relay), Eden Robinson (Long Jump and Relay), Codie Clark (300m and Relay) and Jasmine Clark (Relay) have qualified to compete at the National Prep School Athletics Finals.

Both these events will be held in Birmingham in July. Head of athletics, Angus Calder, is delighted with their performances. “This shows the strength and depth of our athletics squad. Nine students took part in the South West Championships and I’m so proud of the six who will be going to compete at the various levels in Birmingham.”
