Windermere School is introducing some additional qualifications to its prospectus from September 2013 and incorporating a selection of A’level subjects to complement its offering.

The school currently delivers teaching for International Baccalaureate Diplomas, IB certificates and BTECs as part of its curriculum.

The A’level subjects on offer from the start of the next school year will be art, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, geography and physical education.

“We are delighted to be able to provide A’level teaching in seven initial subjects and the list is likely to expand in the future,” says Jane Scott, Head of Admissions. “We have a number of students who start in reception and really enjoy their time here, but look elsewhere when it comes to sixth form because they want to obtain A’level qualifications.

“By introducing these new courses we can now offer a broader selection of subjects and qualifications so students can choose which is the most appropriate for them.”

Windermere School was established in 1863 and celebrates its 150 anniversary this year. With two campuses overlooking Lake Windermere, the school enjoys an outstanding rating by Ofsted and provides teaching for boys and girls from the ages of two to 18.

The school also runs a highly respected and very successful International Summer School for overseas students wanting to spend time in the UK learning English.

From this year, international students will also be able to sit the Trinity Graded Exam in Spoken English. On completion of the course they will be presented with a certificate confirming they have taken this internationally recognised exam.
