World Champion Swimmer Suki returns to Kent College Pembury

The Royal Hospital School and Suki BrownsdenDouble World Champion Swimmer and ex Kent College pupil, Suki Brownsdon, returned to Kent College Pembury on Friday 20th January with Team GB Sports Dietician Gill Horgan, as representatives from the British Olympic Foundation (the charitable arm of the British Olympic Association).

Suki and Gill delivered a masterclass on the work that the Olympic Foundation does and gave an insider’s view on training as an athlete in the Olympic games, inspiring pupils studying their GCSEs and A Levels to make the most of the Olympics in London this year.

Suki attended Kent College in the late 70s and early 80s, simultaneously training as part of Team GB. She eventually swam her way into the 1980 Olympics in Moscow, competing in the women’s 100m breast stroke. She has competed in four Olympic Games, won five Commonwealth Games’ medals including gold and European silver and is Double World Cup Champion.
