After the undoubted success of the London 2012 Olympics, there is much debate about what the actual legacy of the Wycliffe CollegeGames will bring to young people.

Well, at Wycliffe the Legacy Sport morning, so named to acknowledge the impact of the Olympics, provided an opportunity for pupils to participate and compete in a range of Olympic sports.

Throughout the morning, Houses competed in six Olympic sports, within four different age groups. The Sports Centre was packed with athletes and spectators throughout the morning. The level of House rivalry probably outweighed the level of performance, but nonetheless the events were enjoyed by all and enabled the majority of the pupils to participate in something for their House.

The results below show a variety of winners from different Houses.

Squash was included as a Legacy Sport to show the schools support for the inclusion of this in the next Olympics (fingers crossed!)

It is hoped that the Legacy Sports morning will continue and become a part of the school’s sports programme.
