Wycliffe students are celebrating excellent A level results this morning. As the national picture of variable performance and dropped grades filters through it is clear that Wycliffe pupils have held their own with some outstanding performances.

Leading the field are Rusty Wong with two A*s and an A which will take him to UCL to study Biochemistry and Sasha Tsoy who secured the same grade profile and will be reading Media at Goldsmith’s, London. Fergus Menendez from Kings Stanley achieved four A grades.

A group of students secured an A* and two As. They are Cami Poccard from Ebley who will read Art History at Birmingham, Carrii Elliott from Woodford, who is to study Chemistry at Imperial, Jasmine Handford of Chepstow who is to study medicine at University of London and Tacie Teslya, from Moscow who is going to university in the USA, having secured outstanding SAT scores and now an A* and two As at A level.

A host of others are following their dream courses at top universities with a third of all grades achieved coming at A or A*.

Head Margie Burnet Ward said “In such a difficult year for results nationally, these are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our pupils and staff. As well as a very full extra-curricular life at Wycliffe and outstanding pastoral care producing very contented students, it is great to see academic levels so high too.”
