Information

Set among 30 acres of some of Hampshire’s finest countryside, Boundary Oak School offers its pupils a first class education in a nurturing environment.

Their aim is certainly reflected in the pupils, staff and overall atmosphere as you walk around this charming school. “Whatever their passion, strength or talent may be, we work with every child to help them to grow into happy, confident individuals while ensuring that they retain their intellectual curiosity and love of learning,” said Headmaster James Polansky.

This impressive day and boarding school, conveniently located just off M27 at J10, has grown both in size and prestige over the last few years as reflected in their recent inspection report.

Pupils from 2 to 16 years old benefit from award winning teaching staff whom impart a varied and stimulating curriculum that supports the whole child. The school has had some very positive changes over the past few years to reflect their success.

All pupils benefit from an Outdoor Learning Programme, regularly making use of their on-site Woodland School. This area has fast become a popular and significant strand of their curriculum, giving pupils the opportunity to develop from new experiences while gaining additional skills that are not always visible in the classroom.

A love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment:
Throughout the school, the Growth Mindset approach, which teaches children that intelligence is not fixed and the brain can be exercised as a muscle, has been adopted. This view successfully creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.

Each classroom benefits from the latest technology and learning tools which, together with the extensive sporting grounds, Food Tech kitchens, Art and Design studio, DT workshop, theatre and woodland classrooms ensure a successful blend of indoor and outdoor learning.

In addition, a whole host of activities and co-curricular clubs are available to all making this an exceptional place for pupils to grow into happy, confident learners prepared for life beyond Boundary Oak. James Polansly said: “At the younger end of the school, we have embedded an Open Futures curriculum where the children look after a clutch of chickens, grow their own vegetables in our garden and prepare and cook their own food.”

“As they progress through our Prep and Senior years, our extensive co-curricular offering enables pupils to acquire new knowledge, skills and information but also develops the qualities and attributes that they will need to thrive in a changing world such as: creativity, adaptability, confidence, resilience and teamwork.”

Their team of exceptional teaching staff, led by Cambridge graduate and former committee member of the Association of Teaching of Mathematics Mr Polansky, believe that by encouraging key learning and character skills and ensuring pupils have the knowledge necessary to maximise their educational experience, they can achieve their aspirations and goals. Teachers here follow the philosophy that they need to learn and adapt as much as the pupils do. The staff here are an absolute credit to the Hampshire based school and the polite, respectful, happy pupils are proof of that.

“Exceptional academics and wonderful pupils are the heartbeat of the school.”
