School Information

Future leaders wanted. Join our generous and joyful, global community.

Home from home
Boarding at Freemen’s is a home from home and provides a safe, happy
environment for you to learn, to get excellent exam results and to make
lifelong friends.
Our staff build strong, lasting relationships with every boarder, and work
hard to provide you with a calm, caring, safe and supportive family atmosphere
where you can develop self-knowledge, self-esteem and self-confidence.
Whenever you come home to the boarding house, there is always someone
waiting for you, to challenge or to push you, to study with you, to advise and to
support you, which is why our boarding students do even better than our day
students academically.
You can find Freemen’s halfway between Heathrow and Gatwick airports
and a 25-minute train journey to Central London.

Academic
Our students achieve high results to pursue their dreams at their first choice
Russell group universities, Oxford and Cambridge, as well as at universities
outside of the UK, but we are not an academic hot house. The important
thing about being educated at Freemen’s is we want you to find the path
that is right for you.

Co-Curricular
If there is one piece of advice our older students give to new pupils, it is try
everything you can. There are so many opportunities available for you to
explore at Freemen’s, that you will find new passions, while building on your
existing skills and talents.
The co-curricular programme at Freemen’s is enormous. We have 98
different clubs and activities to choose from, not to mention house events,
a packed sports programme, an array of small and large drama productions,
choirs, ensembles, bands and orchestras, Duke of Edinburgh Award and CCF
for you to join and if you can’t find the activity, you are looking for, we are
always open to new ideas.

Facilities
Boarders stay in a “pod” with up to ten other pupils in single and double
rooms. Each room has desks, ample storage and a basin. Each pod has a
bathroom and social area shared between them.
You can also enjoy a large open-plan space which has a PlayStation, TV,
table football and board games. There is also a device-free ‘Chill Out Zone,’
music practice room and two kitchens where boarders can make snacks.
There are 57 acres of the campus to explore with an award-winning
swimming pool, gym, basketball and tennis courts, theatre and recently
opened Sixth Form centre.

“A down-to-earth, friendly school that is
comfortable in its own skin rather than relentlessly
trying to show off its most polished side – and is
all the better for it. Just the ticket for parents
after a high-quality, stress-free route for their
academically bright sons and daughters from age 7
right through to 18. Almost unique around here.”
