Suzy Mitchell Photography -137Harrogate Ladies’ College is a vibrant, stimulating and diverse school community.  We are a day and boarding school for girls aged 11-18 located in the heart of the beautiful spa town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire – voted the “happiest place to live” in the UK.  We also have an associated Prep School and Pre-Prep for boys and girls aged 2–11 years.

The size of our school means that we know all of our pupils as individuals, the way their parents know them, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, hopes and fears.  This enables us to work with them and challenge them to achieve more both inside and outside of the classroom.  As a girls only school we aim to give our pupils the freedom and the confidence to be themselves; to know who they are and to take on the world on their own terms.

Academic Excellence

Outstanding teaching, strong pastoral support and a secure, friendly community allow girls to excel academically and become confident, amazing young women who strive to be the very best they can be.  Our students achieve excellent results in A levels and GCSEs and over 75% typically receive offers from top Russell Group universities.

SMP-101Boarding – A Home Away from Home

Boarding is at the heart of our school ethos and around forty percent of our students are boarders.  Our boarders come from more than 20 different countries and are fully integrated into our school community.  Our boarders live in traditional family houses with an extended family of boarding staff to care for and support them.

Beyond the Classroom

Life at College gives students the opportunity to excel outside the classroom in a wide range of specialist fields including sports, drama and music.  We have over 50 extra-curricular clubs and societies available for students and a full weekend programme for day and boarding pupils.
