Nestled within our stunning 1200 acre campus of soft rolling hills and wooded valleys, there is a school where pupils are thriving. Our aim is to shape inwardly self-confident, outwardly modest young men and women who are not only curious and passionate but are ambitious to go and make a positive difference in the world. Our pupils consistently excel in traditional testing, with more than half scoring A* to A grades (or 9s) at GCSE and A Level. More importantly, they are given an education of opportunities. We ensure each pupil is given the opportunity to excel in whatever guise that takes – part of a philosophy that put our senior staff on the i25 shortlist for innovators in education. Pupils work hard inside the classroom, and outside it too, with a wealth of possibilities in sport, the Arts, STEM and our incomparable access to nature, leaving our pupils with a sense of radical optimism – a spirit that says, ‘through perseverance, I can conquer’.

International students

We have a small number of pupils from overseas at the College and we welcome the extra dimension they bring to school life. English as an additional language (EAL) lessons are given for students for whom English is not their first language. Assistance with transport to and from airports is provided.

Sixth Form

Alongside the pursuit of academic excellence, our pupils strive to be brave, independent and compassionate young people. Their incredible range of experiences and talents allow them to take on leadership roles that serve our community and further afield. The flexible working timetable and extensive co-curricular programme help to engender a culture of collaboration, collegiality and self-discipline. Most importantly though, we seek to give all pupils a foundation from which they can move into the working world with confidence and ambition.

The Lord Wandsworth Foundation

For over 100 years the Foundation has been supporting children who have been bereaved of one or both parents, or who have lost their support through other circumstances. These children benefit from the stability, structure, and pastoral care provided by our award-winning boarding environment. The Foundation remains at the heart of life at LWC today.

Foundation places are primarily available for entry into Year 7 (1st Form) and Sixth Form. However, we do sometimes have availability at other entry points and would welcome a conversation if you have a child who would benefit from a place.

Each case is considered on an individual basis with the child’s best interests at the heart of every discussion. When assessing applications, we take into account the need for pastoral care and a supportive, structured environment, and the likely impact of a Foundation place, both on the child and their wider family.

LWC is set in 1,200 acres of beautiful Hampshire/Surrey countryside. It is one hour from London, and within quick and easy reach of Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.
