Enrichment & Extension
We offer a stimulating array of over 90 enrichment and extension activities midweek from skiing through to a jazz band, from karate to F1 in Schools, it’s a great
way to learn new skills and make new friends.
We also have a jam-packed programme of exciting weekend adventures and
trips – a mixture of creative, physical and cultural activities – with an emphasis
on having fun! Trips include; theatre outings, beach visits, sporting matches (inc.
Manchester City FC), shopping excursions and places of cultural significance or
historical interest.


Ethos

Our students body represents 15 nations and form a diverse, purposeful,
and culturally rich community. With an emphasis on the development of the
whole person nurturing their; emotional, intellectual, moral, social, spiritual

Academic Success
In the last ISI inspection, our teaching and learning was graded as excellent, don’t
just take our word for it, our 2022/23 summer results were outstanding:
A-Level Results:

  • For the third consecutive year over 80% of grades were at A* – C
  • Half of A-level grades were A* or A, again a consistent trend over the past
    three years
  • In BTEC and vocational qualifications, a 100% pass rate also saw 93% of
    students attaining the highest possible grades
    GCSE Results:
  • Nearly 90% of GCSEs were passed with grades 4 – 9
  • Nearly a quarter of all GCSE results at Rishworth were with the best possible grades from 7 – 9

  • Progression
    Rishworth students are given continuous UCAS support in planning their next steps,
    including extensive opportunities for boosting their applications through; meaningful
    work experience, extra credit qualifications and intensive IELTS coaching. It’s of no
    surprise that Rishworth students’ progress to some of the top Universities such as:
    Cambridge, UCL, Kings College London, Exeter, Manchester and Durham.
    STEM
    Being STEM specialists, we are proud to share that 100% of students applying to
    study medicine in the last 6 years achieved their place. This is in part down to our
    renowned Medical Society club

Scholarships and Bursaries

Rishworth School provides an excellent, balanced education for its pupils and seeks positively to offer to as many potential pupils as possible the opportunity of studying at the School.

The Scholarship scheme supports these aims by encouraging applications from gifted pupils and from pupils who would otherwise be unable to afford to attend Rishworth without financial support.  Details of the schemes are set out in this section. All Scholarships are subject to the availability of funds.

Scholarships are awarded in recognition of high academic ability or for excellence in Performing Arts, Creative Arts or Sport.
