exceptional education in our beautiful, safe, and historical setting just north of
London. As part of our happy and diverse school community, both our boarders
and our day pupils benefit from an education that puts equal importance on their

destinations included places at top, including Russell Group, universities, such
as University College London (UCL), University of Exeter, London School of
Economics (LSE), University of Leeds, Nottingham University and London
Southbank University.
We pride ourselves on delivering a highly academic education that is tailored to
each individual student. Our teaching and learning strategy, which is underpinned
by the High Performance Learning (HPL) framework, ensures that each student
realises their full potential and achieves academic success.
We offer an excellent choice of subjects, taught in small class sizes and academic
scholarships are available, alongside scholarships for art, music and sports.

Boarding
We welcome boarders from age 11 upwards, and pride ourselves on our inclusive,
warm, safe and friendly community. Students live in our beautiful grounds in one
of our single-sex boarding houses – each with their own dedicated team.
Students share twin rooms up to and including Year 11, and our Sixth Form
students benefit from single occupancy bedrooms which boast views of the
surrounding area and enable them to have quiet study time and personal space.
All boarders have full access to the College library, teachers and learning resources
during study time. In-place of exeat weekends, we provide a full evening and
weekend activity programme – which includes trips to the theatre, cinema,
sporting events, shopping and outdoor activity days. Due to our enviable location,
we are also able to provide sightseeing trips to neighbouring London, Cambridge
and Oxford – as well as other attractions, such as the Warner Bros. Studio Tour.
Full, weekly, and flexible boarding is offered, made easy by our travel links and
proximity to London and Cambridge.

Co-curricular and personal development
We have a renowned pastoral system comprising five Houses which oversee the
students’ personal development and as the oldest Catholic school in England and with
an incredible chapel on our grounds, we excel in nurturing each pupil’s spiritual journey.
In Year 7 and 8 there are experienced Heads of Year aiding students’ transition to
the College and in Sixth Form, further education and UCAS preparation. Academic
excellence is complemented by cultural, sporting, and social development. Students
have a timetabled hour every day to choose from a wide range of activities from
fencing and golf to debating and cooking. We have a thriving Music department
offering specialist one to one teaching, school productions, choirs, and orchestras.
Additionally, we offer over 15 sports, from football for girls and boys to rugby,
cricket, hockey, netball. Alongside the exciting activities and regular overseas trips,
our students can take part in our Combined Cadet Force, St Edmund’s Award and
