Academic
Wellesley offers small classes, superb facilities and a dedicated teaching staff. Children are encouraged to enjoy sport, music, art and drama, at the same time developing their academic strengths. A strong sense of family values pervades and the happiness of each child is paramount.

Traditional links with top senior schools are maintained and children regularly win a range of scholarships. Scholars have gone on to Ampleforth, Benenden, Eton, Harrow, King’s Canterbury, Lancing and Stowe. Wellesley has achieved the full International School Award in recognition of its global outlook and has previously won an Archant Good School award.

Teamwork

Children thrive at Wellesley, learning the benefits of teamwork through sport, drama and music. The chapel choir is particularly strong and has performed in churches in Brussels, Rome and Venice. The girls were JET rounders winners in 2007 and 2008 and finalists in 2011 and 2012. The first XI cricket team became national JET champions in 2012 for the sixth time, were runners-up in 2013 and continue to compete strongly. Wellesley sailors compete at the national IAPS Regatta at Weymouth and have previously won the silver division.

Facilities
The school has a science and technology building, which includes modern science laboratories, an ICT suite and a craft room. Other facilities include a library, an indoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, squash courts, a modelling room, an art room, a music wing, a .22 shooting range and separate recreation rooms, all of which are in the school grounds.

There is a spacious sports hall. The main team games are cricket, association and rugby football, hockey, netball and rounders. Tuition is also given in squash, shooting, fencing, golf, tennis and swimming. Ballet, tap, modern dancing, riding, judo and sailing are also available.

Weekends
A busy weekend programme is provided and a host of extracurricular activities ensure the children are stimulated, motivated and happy and enjoy a full boarding experience.
