A gymnast from Bruton School for Girls has won two medals at the recent Trampoline, Tumbling and DMT (Double Mini Trampoline) European Championships in Azerbaijan.

Jess Brain represented Great Britain and helped the junior women’s tumbling team to win gold, finishing nearly four marks ahead of second-placed Russia. This also qualified Jess for the individual finals where she scored 64.400 points to earn a silver medal in the individual tumbling final.

Pip Goodson, director of sport at Bruton School for Girls, said: “We are thrilled that Jess’ consistent hard work has paid off, she is incredibly dedicated and it is fantastic that she has been rewarded with two medals.  She’s an inspiration – and all this while studying for her GCSE examinations in the summer!”
