Felsted Prep School was transported under the sea as Years 5 and 6 performed ‘The Little Mermaid’.

The 90-pupil cast sang, danced and acted their way through the visual and musical extravaganza, supported by musicians from the school orchestra, with costumes and props made by the art department.

The school has a reputation for high quality drama productions across all ages. This was the final Felsted Prep production of the year, following on from ‘The Sound of Music’, performed by Years 7 and 8, ‘A Christmas Carol’ performed by Year 4 and some both traditional and alternative productions of the Christmas nativity performed by pupils in Reception to Year 3.

Drama enables pupils to learn about themselves and their environment, practice social behaviour and organise their thoughts into language. Senior School drama develops pupils to a much more advanced level, with pupils able to get involved in competitions and more technical theatre. Professional acts also perform throughout the year at the school’s own Hunt Theatre, exposing pupils to a wide range of drama.
